Reasons for establishing a congregation:
Establishing the Baruch Hashem Messianic Congregation in the Angus area of Scotland is primarily aimed at establishing a new Messianic synagogue kehillah (community) providing a permanent, welcoming, place of assembly where both Jew by birth and Jew by choice, who believe in Yeshua (Jesus) as the promised Jewish Messiah (Anointed One), and the one who died so that all people may find salvation in a renewed relationship with G-d, will gather to praise G-d, study Torah, break bread, and share life, while retaining cultural, traditional, and liturgical Jewish identity observing Shabbat, celebrating biblical festivals, and incorporating Hebrew in worship.
Led by our mission development committee with guidance from established Messianic Rabbis, it is our sincere hope to grow a community of believers dedicated to living in the light of Yeshua being our Messiah, committed to following Him and His teachings on how to live Torah, in unity with the Medinat Yisrael (State of Israel), the people who are in covenantal relationship with G-d.
Discipleship and Continuity
It provides a necessary, comfortable environment for Jewish believers to grow in their faith, where mainstream churches often cannot.
Cultural Contextualization
It addresses the unique challenge of Jewish followers of Jesus who often feel stuck between two worlds, offering a place to worship Jesus (Yeshua) while still feeling at home in their own culture.
Witness and Outreach
Baruch Hashem Messianic Congregation will serve as a visible testimony to the local Jewish community that faith in Jesus is not a rejection of Jewishness. It provides a "come and see" venue for Jewish friends and family to explore the "Jewishness" of Jesus in a familiar setting.
Fulfilling Prophecy
It acts as a sign to the world that God is preserving a remnant of the Jewish people within the broader Body of Messiah.
Inclusion of Gentile Believers
Baruch Hashem Messianic Congregation welcomes Gentiles who desire to support Israel, study the Jewish roots of their faith, and worship within a "Jewish-style" setting.
"One New Man" Unity
Based on Ephesians 2, it will provide a community where both Jewish and Gentile believers can worship together, fostering a deeper understanding of the Jewish roots of the Christian faith.
"To the Jew First"
It allows for a dedicated focus on sharing the Gospel with the Jewish community, aligning with the biblical mandate (Romans 1:16) to reach the Jewish people.
